Mr. Allen is a senior manager in the Southwest Region of CBIZ Valuation Group. His areas of expertise include business valuation, intangible asset valuation and value enhancement consulting. He has valued closely held businesses and partnerships in a variety of industries for a variety of purposes, including estate and gift tax reporting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, litigation support, management consulting, succession planning and transactional advisory support. Mr. Allen has experience with purchase price allocations (ASC 805), goodwill impairment testing (ASC 350), stock-based compensation/options (ASC 718/IRC 409a), intangible asset valuation, estate and gift tax valuation, litigation and collaborative law matters, buy/sell agreement valuations, fairness opinions, solvency opinions, physician compensation studies, and transfer pricing studies. In addition, Mr. Allen has experience consulting with business owners on valuation and strategic planning issues, including the identification of value drivers and business risks to evaluate the impact on business value, identification of critical success factors and key performance indicators, the development of budgets and forecasts, and strategic benchmarking.

Mr. Allen has over 17 years of financial advisory and valuation experience. Prior to joining CBIZ Valuation Group, Mr. Allen was a manager and service line leader in the Valuation and Litigation Support groups of local and regional public accounting firms.

Mr. Allen earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Texas Christian University. Mr. Allen is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute as well as a member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). He previously served as an adjunct faculty member at the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University, where he taught Valuation in the Masters of Accounting program.
